Škoda Auto hit by double COVID-19 infection

8 May 2020

Škoda Auto has barely resumed production in the Czech Republic, but it’s already had two cases of COVID-19 among its employees. The company has confirmed that one of the employees worked in two buildings. Spokesman Tomáš Kotera said that other employees who came into contact with their infected colleagues have been told to follow the instructions of the hygienists office. “The work places of these employees have been cleaned and they underwent a deep disinfection,” he said, as have common areas in the factory, including the cafeteria they used. Production at the plant has been renewed. The situation was made less complicated by the fact that the patients were not housed in any of the worker dormitories. Škoda Auto’s head of human resources came down with the virus at the outset of the pandemic.
