Over the next month, nearly 800 South Korean engineers are expected to work at the Hyundai automobile factory in Nošovice on the development of a new car. They’ll be able to come to the country and oversee the work thanks to an exception granted by the Czech government, which has otherwise blocked entry to foreigners as part of its fight against the spread of COVID-19. According to Forbes, Deputy prime minister Karel Havlíček said “it’s one of the key employers in the entire Moravian region and part of the automobile infrastructure on which hundreds of domestic producers and suppliers are connected.” On April 14, Hyundai was the first automobile manufacturer in the country to renew production after a break of three weeks. The Koreans will visit for less than 90 days, will travel within the country in their own buses, live in separate facilities and will only be allowed to travel by showing a negative test for coronavirus that’s less than two days old.
