Czech government considers allowing holidays in Slovakia and Croatia

With the summer holidays approaching the Czech government is considering easing travel restrictions to a few select countries. Deputy health minister Roman Prymula said the most likely candidates were Croatia and Slovakia, which are both popular destinations for Czechs as well as countries that currently have the coronavirus under control. Prymula said that the government would make a decision on the issue within a couple of weeks, once the impact of a loosening of restrictions on the movement of people becomes clearer. Prymula said countries would have to agree whether to accept each other’s citizens and that anyone travelling to a riskier country would have to be quarantined upon return. “With countries where the risk level is lower, this wouldn’t be necessary,” he said. “There’s enormous pressure to open things, but we have to control it very carefully to make sure we don’t import infections.”
