About 10,000 workers in Slovenian companies, trade and services will resume work on Wednesday, following a week-long shutdown to halt the epidemic. Among the bigger companies being allowed to open up again are, Gorenje Hisense, a home appliance manufacturer, and Adria Mobil, a caravan and vacation home maker. According to a government decree work on large construction projects can resume, as can auto mechanics, building materials outlets and appliances stores. The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce warned, however, that employers are responsible for providing safe working conditions and follow the guidelines of the National Institute of Public Health. Unions have urged health authorities to refine their instructions once again to ensure workers’ health, and to to suspend all activities not necessary for the functioning of the state.
