Garbe Industrial building and leasing on Werne site

24 March 2020

Garbe Industrial Real Estate is planning for the construction of two new logistics halls on a site in Werne, Germany. The two buildings will replace an outdated IKEA logistics facility that’s currently being demolished. A firm rental commitment has already been made by Euziel International for the first of the two halls. Garbe acquired the property two years ago, which consists of two properties connected by a bridge. “The demand for modern logistics real estate is increasing,” says Jan Dietrich Hempel, Managing Director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate. He says that there’s an acute shortage of large, contiguous sites on the north-eastern edge of the Ruhr area.

Euziel International specializes in the importing and exporting of consumer goods and is one of the largest sellers on Amazon with several million customers per month. The Werne site offers quick access to the region’s motorway network. Garbe has concluded a lease on another portion of the Werne site to Imperial Industrial Logistics. Colliers International acted as an intermediary and consultant for the letting.
