The total number of people infected with the corona virus in Serbia rose by 15 to 118, prompting the government to close all of the country’s border crossings by road, river and rail traffic as of March 20. Only cargo trucks will be able to cross Serbia’s international frontiers, said President Aleksandar Vucic, a decision which effectively shuts down civilian international flights as well. Moreover, the government has imposed a nighttime curfew after 8 pm while city dwellers over the age of 65 are not allowed to leave their homes at all. In towns with fewer than 5,000 residents, this decree applies to residents over 70 years old.
