Land buys for Prague bypass extension moving at at 0 km/h

2 March 2020

It’s been a year since the Czech Highways Authority (RSD) issued its memorandum on the purchase of land needed to extend the Prague bypass from Běchovice to the D1 motorway. Despite that fact, the state organization hasn’t managed to complete a single transaction to bring the project closer to work being able to begin. Prague Deputy mayor Adam Scheinherr admitted this at a recent press conference. “Work on buying the green strips began last year but we expect the first results in the form of secured land this year.” He would specify how many deals he expected would be completed. Echo24 writes that mistakes made by the construction office of Prague 22 while beginning zoning procedures have led to delays but that planning documentation could be in place by April. Still, construction isn’t expected to get underway before 2022.
