Construction output in Hungary up 18%

Construction output in Hungary grew by 18.7 percent y-o-y, while civil engineering works were up 17.2 percent in September, according to data released by the Central Statistical Office. Specialized construction activities also grew by 16.2 percent during the month. The strong performance was driven by the construction of industrial, residential and cultural buildings as well as road and railway projects. New contracts increased by 60 percent from September 2018, while construction of civil engineering works were up 98.8 percent. Construction producer prices increased by 9.5 percent y-o-y in the third quarter, according to the data.
