Industrial output in Hungary grew by 0.3 percent y-o-y in August, driven by the automotive sector, which reported an increase of 2 percent for the month, according to the Central Statistical Office. Output for the computer, electronics and optical equipment sector also increased by 5.9 percent y-o-y, while output for food, drinks and tobacco products, fell by 3.2 percent on the year. The export volume increased by 2 percent, boosted by the automotive sector (13.7 percent) and the computer, electronics and optical equipment sector (6.6 percent), the data shows. Between January and August, industrial output increased by 5.6 percent y-o-y, according to the Central Statistical Office.
