The China based company Shandong Yanggu Huatai Chemical plans to build a sulphur factory in northern Serbia. It will be located in Zrenjanin on a 8 ha plot on which the company plans to invest $32.8m in a facility that will employ 101 people. It will supply raw materials for the planned tyre factory of China’s Shandong Linglong in Zrenjanin. The Chinese signed a memorandum of understanding with the Serbian government about the project. Operations should start in three years, with outplanned expected to be exported to Europe, Russia and the US.
In March, Shandong Linglong started construction of a tyre factory in Zrenjanin, an investment whose value will reach €800m. The plantwill employ 1,200 people who are to turn out 13.6 million high-performance radial tyres annually.
