Solvay to expand Bulgarian, US production plants

25 September 2019

Solvay is planning to invest $203.3m to expand its facilities in Bulgaria and the US over the next three years. The soda ash producer will expand the sodium bicarbonate capacity at its plant in Devnya, eastern Bulgaria, by 200 kilotons. Its production plant in Wyoming will also be expanded by 600 kilotons. “Soda ash and bicarbonate are highly cash generative and resilient businesses for Solvay. Against a backdrop of growing global demand, these investments will deliver resilient cash and strong returns,” said Christophe Clemente of Solvay.
