BAT opens new plant in southwest Hungary

British American Tobacco opened a new plant in Pecs, southwestern Hungary. BAT will produce nicotine pouches at the plant, where five production lines are set to be installed by 2020. The plant will be staffed by 100 employees, and production is expected to triple by next year. The investment is valued at HUF 7.5bn. BAT acquired a tobacco factory in Pecs in 1992 and has invested HUF 40bn in the city to date. BAT currently has 800 employees in Hungary.
