Draxlmaier opens new plant in Moldova

The German based company Draxlmaier opened a new production plant in Moldova, located in the Cahul free economic zone following at €30m investment. The automotive components maker plans to employ more than 1,500 people there in the coming years in this plant for the production of automobile drive systems. The 17,000 sqm plant will initially employ 500 workers for the production of automobile wiring systems. Draxlmaier has been active in Moldova since 2007 when it opened a production unit in the Balti free economic zone. Since then it’s invested around $100m and employed 6,000 people.
