The pace Czech construction output rose 2.4 percent in June, up from the meager 0.2 percent (y-o-y) recorded in May. The Czech Statistics Office recorded a rise of 4.2 percent in the number of permits issued by construction offices around the country, while the value of the average permit climbed an impressive 22.4 percent. Even the number of flats completed showed 29 percent improvement compared to June 2018. However the number of new orders fell during the second quarter of the year, thanks in part to the high number of new orders recorded a year ago. “The value of new orders during the second quarter of last year was the highest in 10 years,” said the head of construction statistics at the CSU, Petra Cuřínová. The number of flats begun in June rose 8.3 percent to 2,850 in June, while 3.032 were completed.
