The city of Ostrava is to hold an architectural competition for the design of a new parking garage located next to the Northern Moravian regional headquarters. The structure, which is expected to cost in the neighorhood of CZK 360m, would have a capacity of 600 cars. The city considers the investment of urgent importance, as developments in the center are expected to create a deficit of up to 3,000 parking spaces, including a renovated library, and a new concert hall. Along with coming up with an attractive look, designers are to create space for shops to be placed in the building and to ensure it’s set up to offer charging stations for electric cars. The competition will close on September 13.
