Perutnina Ptuj has completed a €1.5m expansion of its plant in Strpac as the meat producer prepares to start exporting to EU countries this fall. Bosnia has secured a license from the EU to export chicken meat as well as processed meat from livestock. In addition to Bosnia, Perutnina Ptuj also operates plants in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. The international agricultural and industrial group MHP recently took over the majority ownership of Perutnina Ptuj.
