The Budapest Business Journal writes that BDPST Group has begun renovation on Mahart House and Futura House near Vörösmarty ter. The project is intended to transform the buildings into a upscale hotel and a premium residential block. The company issued a statement announcing that it had secured permits for the work to go ahead on the basis of a design completed by the Italian architecture company Lissoni Architectura. The project includes historic buildings constructed between 1873 and 1913 and are protected by strict monument preservation guidelines. A Marriott-branded 5-star hotel (under the Autograph Collection brand) will open at the site.
