Housing prices in Hungary’s Balaton region are on the rise. Apartments along Lake Balaton are selling for an average of €3,200 per sqm, according to local news reports. Prices have increased by 20 percent since last year. Older units in Sosto and Siofok average between €95,000 and €127,000, while older flats in downtown areas are on the market for €1,277 per sqm. Market watchers anticipate that prices could climb to €4,790 per sqm in a few years.
