The Hungarian tourism sector had a banner 2018, attracting around 650,000 more foreign tourists than the previous year. Domestic tourism totaled 6.5 million, up by 5 percent from 2017. The number of nights tourists spent in commercial accommodations grew by 1 million y-o-y to almost 31 million, according to the Hungarian Tourism Agency. Most tourists were from the US, Romania and the Czech Republic.
