The City of Prague released a revised investment budget for 2019 that calls for CZK 19.4bn in capital expenditures. Denik.cz reports that it’s the largest figure for the city in years and that it’s been welcomed by parties across the capital’s politicial spectrum. The biggest chunk of cash, CZK 5.75bn, will go towards transportation investments. This includes preparations for the metro D and several hundreds of millions of crowns for land acquisitions connected with the outer ring road. The city cut CZK 90m from its budget by targeting its own operations budget, which have gotten out of control. “Standard expenses grew dramatically in recent years,” said Pavel Vyhnánek.
