The CIJ Awards 2018 took place at the Marriott Hotel in central Prague last week in front of an energetic, capacity crowd of 300. With roughly 100 exceptional nominations, the guests had come to hear the verdict on who would be walking home holding the CIJ Awards statuettes. These included one for a new award, Leading Female Property Professional, which was won by Michaela Semanová of Savills.
However, Cushman & Wakefield will also be pleased with their result having the most awards of any, including Best Retail Power Broker Team, Best Capital Markets Team, Best Project Management and Best Property Management. C&W was also involved in the Best Transaction of the Year prize, which turned out to be NEPI’s acquisition of Forum Usti. 108 Agency is another of the nominees that turned in a strong showing, with its founder Jakub Holec being feted on the evening for winning the Best Leadership of the Year prize. The same company caused a stir by winning 2018’s Best Warehouse Power Broker Team. In the coveted Best Law Firm competition, Wilsons made a return to winning ways, while TPA picked up its first-ever victory in the Best Tax and Financial Advisor. Mint Investments was this year’s winner of Best Asset Manager and it was Arete that picked up the prize for Best Performing Fund Manager.
On the project side of the awards, CTP took the top spot in the Best Industrial Development & Developer voting for its scheme NU1, CTPark East, while Crestyl won the Best Residential Development for Šarecký dvůr. As it happens, Svoboda & Williams’ promotion of this project won the evening’s Best PR & Marketing Campaign prize, topping off an excellent night for the company, which also won the Best Local Agency of the Year. Skanska Property picked up a pair of statuettes this year, winning both the Best Office Development and Leading Green Development & Developer. It was Panattoni Europe, however, that won the Best Overall Developer prize for 2018.
