Czech residential prices in Czech cities were nearly 11 percent higher at the end of the second quarter than they were a year ago, reaching an average of CZK 55,200 per square meter. According to Deloitte, Prague came out the least affordable city to buy property in, not surprisingly, with each square meter costing CZK 71,800. Prices jumped 30 percent in the town with the country’s cheapest housing stock, Usti nad Labem, but it was only to CZK 15,300. However, prices fell 1.7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2018, the first time that’s happened in since 2015. Deloitte’s study found that a total of 6,533 flats were sold in the second quarter of the year (down 3 percent compared to 2017) for a total of CZK 22.5bn, a rise of 6 percent.
