Czech economic growth now slowing

31 October 2018

The Czech economy has peaked, according to the Czech Banking Association (CBA). While GDP will continue to grow in the coming years, the pace will be slower. Czech Television reports that the CBA reduced its outlook for 2018 from 3.3 percent growth to just 3 percent, but it’s left 2019 growth at 2.9 percent. Inflation will remain above 2 percent this year, speeding to 3 percent in the first half of 2019 before slowing in the last six months for a yearly average of 2.4 percent. This is because of the slowly rising value of the crown on foreign exchange markets.
