Construction volumes in Estonia grow in Q2

According to Statistics Estonia construction volumes in Estonia increased by 22 percent in the second quarter of 2018. The total construction output around the country was €767m, of which €512m was on buildings and €255m on civil engineering. When compared to Q2 2017, the volume of building construction is up 28 percent and civil engineering by 6 percent. However, construction volumes of Estonian companies operating abroad decreased by 10 percent compared to 2017, meaning that it fell from 7 percent to 5 percent of total revenues for Estonian construction companies. The number of building permits issued in Estonia as of the second quarter of the year is down 20 percent compared to 2017.
