Duke Realty building industrial scheme on spec outside NYC

29 August 2018

Duke Realty broke ground on a speculative industrial building at 5 Ethel Boulevard in Carlstadt/Wood-Ridge, New Jersey. The 193,805 sq ft warehouse will feature 36-foot clear height, 61-foot staging bays, 27 dock doors along with ample trailer and car parking. The project is only minutes from New York City via the Lincoln Tunnel and George Washington Bridge and less than a mile from the Wood-Ridge NJ Transit Station with rail service to New York City’s Penn Station. The REIT is expected to deliver the asset in February.

“Industrial demand in northern New Jersey and the Meadowlands continues to be strong as companies seek out distribution space in close proximity to the populous New York City metro area,” said Ben Rosen, vice president of leasing and development for Duke Realty in New Jersey. “However, there are very few functional availabilities in the market, including in our own portfolio. With 5 Ethel Boulevard, Duke Realty will be well-positioned to meet the needs of users looking for well-located, modern space on the doorstep of New York City.”
