BF.direkt AG financed a total of 94 real estate projects for a total volume of €523m over the first nine months of its financial year, which begins Oct. 1. That result was significantly lower than the €695m achieved over the same period 12 months ago. Francesco Fedele, CEO of BF.direkt AG, said that one reason for the decline was an ongoing shift from the financing of existing properties to developments. “In addition, the Berlin project development market, which is traditionally one of our areas of focus, is showing some signs of a slowdown. Developer activity remains high – but the pace particularly on the banking side is easing off. What’s more, the implementation rate has experienced a slight decline, as we are maintaining our level of quality especially in the current market and systematically filtering out inquiries sent to us that don’t meet our standards.”
