The construction of the D line of the metro is one of the city’s top priorities, says the city of Prague, which is attempting to move as soon as possible to secure the land it needs to make this happen. It’s to be hoped that Prague can make good on the promises, having failed to make needed infrastructure investments for years now. Petr Dolinek, Prague’s deputy mayor, says the city’s planning authorities will be preparing a study to evaluate each of the proposed new sections of track to determine whether they are feasible and how much they will cost. Plans to extend the D line have emerged, even before construction has begun. Dolinek says it’s necessary to determine which parts of the city will be expanding the quickest in order to finalize plans for the extension of all the existing lines.
