Paskova moves to approve motorway casino

23 July 2018

Local representatives of the town Paskova near Frydek Místek have approved plans for the construction of a new casino, according to Czech Television. The plan is for the investor to build along the motorway on land he already owns. However, the project has provoked controversy to the extent 250 residents signed a petition demanding the city rethink its approach. Paskov’s mayor Petr Baďura says the city has extremely limited numbers of companies offering games of chance and points out that the new building will produce CZK 6 million annually in revenues for the city. “It’s always better to have a place where things are under control,” he said.
