LandSouth Construction has started work on The Merchant, a $37m luxury apartment community in Charleston, South Carolina. Plans call for 231 one- and two-bedroom apartments in 15-floor plans measuring from 565 to 1,074 sq ft. The project is situated in the the city’s NoMo neighborhood. Made up of 10 three- and four-story buildings, common amenities will include a clubhouse and gaming area, a fitness center, yoga studio, pet spa and a bike lounge. The scheme is slated for completion in December 2019.
“The Merchant will be an exceptional addition, not only to NoMo, but to the entire city,” said Joe Passkiewicz, LandSouth Construction’s senior vice president of development. “If you look at a map of the city and the peninsula, this is really the heart. This project is a catalytic for spurring jobs in the area. It’s one of the reasons the area is attracting even more professionals to live, work and play in Charleston.”
