Senate Properties have bought the K6 office building in Helsinki from Skanska for approximately €53 million. The building, which is currently under construction, is located in a former industrial area in the Sörnäinen district. When completed later this summer the building will offer 129,166 sqm of office space. According to Petri Turku, regional manager of Senate Properties, the location of the property was key to the purchase. Not only does the buyer own the property next door, but the two buildings could be structurally combined. Antti Nousiainen, Skanska CDF’s director says that profits from the sale will be reinvested into future projects “This sale generates an excellent return on invested capital, and allows for investments which will create new contracts for the construction stream that generate a profit”.
