Foulger-Pratt has kicked off construction on a mixed-use scheme in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Beckert’s Park will include 325 luxury residential units and 68,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail. The five-story structure will house 8,000 sq ft of neighborhood retail and a 60,000 sq ft Safeway grocery store. The project is going up just two block from the Potomac Avenue metro station on a site that used to house the Washington Brewery, a former beer garden and amusement park. Construction is scheduled to take roughly two years.
