The big box retailer Makro saw its profits cut in half for the 2015/2016 financial year to just CZK 637m, according to the Czech News Agency (CTK), which reports that the company’s revenues slipped less than one percent of CZK 29.9bn. Citing Makro’s annual report, CTK says Makro will continue its expansion on the Czech market, having grown its network to 13 hypermarkets serviced by 3,273 employees. Hotels and restaurants make up 35 percent of the the company’s revenues, individual retailers make up another 35 percent, while companies and institutions form the remainder.
