Český aeroholding, the company that owns the Prague airport, saw its profits rise CZK 4.6bn in 2017 thanks largely to booming growth in air travel. The state company, which will fuse with Letišťě Praha this year, is expected to pay out the majority of its profits through dividends. Other assets the company owns along with the airport include Czech Airlines Technics and Czech Airlines Handling. EBITDA hit CZK 4.9bn, a year-on-year rise of 14 percent. Having handled 15.4 million passengers last year at the Prague airport, its profits work out to a profit of CZK 298 on each of them. Critics of the current state of the country’s largest airport would prefer to see new investments made to increase its capacity and its ability to deal with multiple jumbo jets at the same time.
