Balfin investing €340m in mixed-used project in Skopje

Balfin is planning to invest €340m in its East Gate project in Skopje. The mixed-use project will cover 143,000 sqm. The complex will feature a shopping mall, a residential compound and a business park, including recreation facilities, parks, two amphitheatres and parking. Construction should take five to seven years and will create about 2,000 new jobs. Yazgan Design Architecture designed the scheme.
Balfin Group is the biggest shareholder of Skopje East Gate Estate Development, which is developing the project. The Albanian investment group is engaged in the real estate, agriculture, mineral industries. It operates in Austria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Greece, the US, Dubai and Albania. In October 2016, the group sold Skopje City Mall to UK investment company Hystead Limited for €92m.
