Czech construction companies have bursting order books

1 June 2018

Most Czech construction companies have a year’s worth of orders on their books and their managers are anticipating strong revenue growth for 2018. The only problem they’re now running into, according to a report by CEEC Research that was cited by E15 is a lack of labor. “Construction is prospering and growth is expected for this year and next year,” writes CEEC. “Construction companies are in a positive mood and are expecting a rise in revenues since most of them have more orders than they did a year ago. Only one in ten firms has fewer orders than a year ago.” The Czech Statistics Office writes that output among contractors focused on buildings grew by 12 percent in the first quarter of 2018. Developers, on the other hand, are now facing serious issues getting contractors to bid for work and some are having to delay construction as a result.
