Apleona HSG Facility Management has taken on facility management responsibilities for the Merck Innovation Center in Darmstadt. The new facility was opened in March. In addition to open-space areas for start-ups, it also offers a multimedia library, an auditorium, lounges, cafés, shops, and a staff restaurant. The entire building technology for the center, which covers a total of almost 19,000 sqm, was installed by Apleona Wolfferts Gebäudetechnik. As well as operating all of the technical facilities in the building, Apleona will also handle cleaning services and the maintenance of a total of 24,000 sqm of outdoor and green areas. Apleona will perform the services itself on site with a 70-person team. The building of the Innovation Center is expected to be awarded LEED Platinum status in 2019.
