Italian corporation SIA is taking over First Data Corporation in Central and Southeast Europe for a reported €375m. The US electronic payment services group is active across Central and Eastern Europe, producing annual revenues of around €100m. It’s expected that the transaction will go through in the third quarter of the year, impacting around 1,400 employees who will be transferred into SIA. The deal will make SIA the biggest independent European digital payments platform. SIA provides card processing, call center and back office services.
