The Serbian government has secured €1bn from the European Investment Bank for digitalization and infrastructure projects. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the Western Balkans Summit in Sofia. The funds will go toward digitizing Serbian schools as well as infrastructure, rural development, energy safety and urban transport. Since 2017, EIB has granted €7.5bn in loans to the Western Balkans.
