Serbia’s first digital farm to open this month

16 March 2018

The AgTech complex, Serbia’s first digital farm, is set to open this month in Krivaja, near Backa Topola. AgTech is part of the Antares project, which aims to create a synergy between IT and agriculture, one of the main drivers of the local economy. The €28m project is being financed by the EU and Serbian government. The digital farm will focus on smart irrigation and fertilization, soil mapping, remote controlling, satellite monitoring and various testing prototypes for innovative solutions. AgTech will bring together local and regional farmers, companies, scientists and startups in an effort to develop solutions for new challenges facing the agriculture industry.
