6 March 2018

Czech automaker Škoda Auto is planning to invest around €2bn into alternative power systems and new mobility services. By 2025, the company intends to have brought out 10 electric car models, of which six will be purely electric. Its first hybrid models, the Superb and the Citigo, are due to hit the streets next year. “In the next two years, we’ll introduce 19 entirely new models,” said the company’s chairman of the board, Bernhard Maier. “One of them with be the Vision X.” He added that Škoda has ambitions to build up to 2 million cars annually, which would be roughly twice what it’s currently producing. The plans may or may not be realistic.”
