Automobile sector wages rise to CZK 37,399

The average wage offered by the automobile industry rose 7 percent last year to CZK 37,399 according to the Automobile Industry Association. That figure is CZK 8,000 higher than the national average. The association’s Its operations director Zdeněk Petzl says the sector currently employs 126,375 people, a rise of 6 percent. While workers in all parts of the automobile sector earn above average wages, the highest salaries are earned by workers who are involved in the the final assembly stages. “We’re positive about the general nature of the wage hikes across the board and that the increases are in step with the productivity of work in the automobile sector,” he told Novinky.cz. Czech automobile production rose 5 percent in 2017 to 1.414 million thanks to record demand from the Czech Republic and the European Union.
