The Czech government that’s being formed expects it will entrust the construction of a missing portion of the D4 motorway between Písek and Přibram to the same company that pays for the work through a PPP project. In return, the chosen company will be operate the 32 km stretch of road for the state for 25 years. The total price for the concession is expected to come to roughly CZK 24.9bn. After the 25 year period is up, the state would assume control of the road. Construction could start in as soon as two years, a goal that depends on the roads EIA being passed in October, as planned. Roughly 90 percent of the land needed for the work has been purchased.
