Having secured a payment license enabling it to operate within the European Union, the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange FitFlyer is set to expand around Europe. The company will set up its headquarters in Luxembourg and expand its business from there. FitFlyer specializes in Bitcoin and other mainstream cryptocurrencies such as Etherium and the Japanese-based alternative Monacoin but initially in Europe, it’s planning to focus primarily on Bitcoin. European use of cryptocurrencies remains far behind the volume achieved in locations such as Japan, Korea and the United States. But it’s widely seen to be catching up quickly and BitFlyer’s arrival is likely the beginning of a wave of similar debuts.
