A popular foot bridge may have fallen in Prague, but heads have yet to roll as a result. It’s not for lack of trying, though. Opposition politicians in Prague’s city hall tried to force the city’s mayor Adriana Krnačová to resign but mustered just 22 of the 33 votes needed to unseat her. The Pirate party got in on the act, recommending that deputy mayor Petr Dolinek be thrown under the political bus, but this too was rejected. Four people were injured when the bridge connecting Prague 7 to Troja collapsed. The accident has led to emergency screenings of all the city’s bridges and outrage at the city’s inability to maintain its infrastructure.
