Prague to build 1,000 apartments for CZK 2.2bn

29 November 2017

The city councilor in charge of housing Radek Lacko announced that Prague is planning to build three apartment buildings. All three are due for completion in less than three years and are expected to cost a total of CZK 2.2bn. Prague has already secured building permits for the Černý Most and Dolní Počernice projects and is waiting for approval of a third in Prague 4 – Opatov. In total, the projects will result in 1,000 new apartments.
The project in Černý Most has been altered since it was first planned. “We had planned small to mid-sized flats, but there are already too many of those in Prague, so we redesigned it to make bigger apartments,” Lacko told the daily Lidové noviny. Some of the apartments will be available to rent, but the rest will be set aside for state employees, including for teachers, doctors, policemen and firemen.
