CBRE buys out Streetsense’s brokerage arm

CBRE Group has taken an equity stake in Streetsense, a privately-held strategy and design company. As part of the purchase CBRE has acquired 50 percent of the firm’s design business and its entire brokerage division, which serves clients in the greater Washington, D.C. market. The firm’s 17 professionals have joined CBRE and the new brokerage business will be called Streetsense|CBRE. The company, which was founded in 2001, has offices Washington, D.C. and New York. It clients include Ritz-Carlton, JBG Smith, Interbake Foods, General Growth Properties and the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation. The addition of Streetsense’s retail division will bolster CBRE’s presence in the D.C. market.
