The Altman Companies and its partner Miami-based the Mattoni Group have started construction on Altís Grand Central, a residential development in Tampa. Located just south of the University of Tampa and north of Tampa General Hospital, the plans call for two eight story buildings that will hold 314 units along with retail space and dining on the ground floor. It will offer residents a spa, dog park and a game-filled clubroom. The two partners paid $8 million for the 2.5 acre site in December of 2016. The first move-ins are scheduled for early 2019. “Residents of Altís Grand Central will be part of the Grand Central District, the most unique and vibrant neighborhood in Tampa,” said Joel Altman, chairman of The Altman Companies. “They will be a part of Tampa’s cosmopolitan experiences just steps from work or a brief walk or bus-ride to downtown at two of the city’s finest institutions.”
