National hospital operator HCA has picked up a medical office building next to the main campus of the JFK Medical Center in Atlantis in a sale valued at $11.25 million. Located at 5503 South Congress Avenue 101, the 30,745 square foot asset was built in 1993 on a 2.2 acre lot. The seller, California-based REIT HCP Inc., bought the asset in 1998 for $1.4 million. HCA, which previously employed Florida Governor Rick Scott as its chairman and CEO, operates 170 hospitals and more than 115 freestanding surgery centers.
