Serbian Vega opens modernized plant in Valjevo

1 November 2017

The Serbian company Vega Valjevo has been investing in new facilities this year, which marks the 25th year since its founding. The company bought the abandoned company Ferum in Valjevo for €1.1m and has since carried out a €1m investment in it along with a €1.5m investment in the factory’s production line. The company’s former headquarters will require €800,000 in renovations, bringing the total value of the investment to €4.5m. The 4,000 sqm facility is set to open in November and it sits on 4ha of land.
The automated warehouse is equipped with state of the art technology installed by the Austrian concern Schaefer. Vega is made up of two companies, Vega Wholesale and Vega Pharmaceuticals, which employ more than 400 people. The company should produce €150m in turnover during 2017 thanks in part to a network of 30 pharmacies. Vega plans to open another 10 around Serbia.
