The multinational lighting manufacturer Osram will expand its production line by opening a new plant in Bulgaria. This will be the company’s first production unit in the country and will cost €25.6m to complete. It’s being built near the second largest city of Bulgaria, in the Trakia Economic zone near Plovdiv. Work began this year in March on a project whose completion is expected in October 2019. The new facility will produce smart LED lighting systems, creating work for more than 900 people, including 150 managers. Osram has operated in Bulgaria since 1998. It plans to export its products from the new factory to Serbia, Kosovo, Romania, Moldova and Macedonia.
